What is Home Care Heroes?

Home Care Heroes is an online platform built to connect our community and reduce social isolation.

The platform allows those that require companionship or support to connect with a diverse and exciting range of local Heroes that are looking to make a difference in the lives of those in their local area.

Who are our Heroes?

Our Heroes are…

  •  A friend and helping hand who will take care of you
  • People who you love to spend time with and who really want to build a friendship too!
  • Someone you can choose independently so that you can find someone that you get along with and understands exactly how you like things done as well as how you like to have fun!

What Screening do Heroes go through?

Each Home Care Hero undergoes a rigorous vetting process to ensure that they meet our standards (we don’t accept any Heroes we wouldn’t want taking care of our own families). This includes the following:

  • An online values test
  • A Face-to-Face Interview
  • An Onboarding Session
  • Reference Checks
  • Police Checks

What qualifications do Heroes have?

Does Home Care Heroes match my client with a Hero?

Once you have created a profile on the platform for your client, our system will automatically match your client with three local Heroes based on their interests and hobbies, required supports and location! From there, your client can message the Heroes directly on the platform.

If your client would prefer to choose their own Hero, they can use our Hero Location Search [Link to Hero Location search] to find Heroes in their local area or they can reach out to our Heroes by creating a Mission Post [Link to mission post article].

Don’t worry - if you are having trouble in finding the right Hero we have a real-life, passionate and dedicated team that is here to help!

You can reach us calling us on 8310 7531 or sending an email to hello@homecareheroes.com.au

Do your Heroes have Mental Health training?

Some of our Heroes have strong experience in supporting those with psychosocial disability, are studying in the field or have completed a Mental Health First Aid course.

In addition to this,  our Heroes are provided with some training in supporting those with psychosocial disability during their Hero Onboarding however, they are not provided with specific training.

If you are looking for a Hero with Mental Health experience or training, we recommend checking their qualifications and experience as they will include this here.
